About Brian
Discover the Story Behind the Artist
Brian is a visionary abstract artist whose vibrant canvases capture a lifelong journey of resilience, passion, and creative freedom. Raised amidst the scenic landscapes of Colorado, Brian's early love for art was reignited after years of silence, inspired by the encouragement of his grandfather. Now, as a retired full-time artist, he creates in his home studio, infusing each piece with raw emotion and dynamic energy. Brian's work is a reflection of his deep connections to family and nature, expressed through bold textures and innovative techniques.
However, a harsh, public critique from a middle school teacher unexpectedly silenced his creative spirit for years. The spark was triumphantly reignited in his later life when he found the courage to paint a piece for his grandfather, whose instant love and profound encouragement unlocked Brian’s inner talent once again. Following a fulfilling 25-year career serving the City and County of Denver, and inspired by the unwavering support of his wife, Brian has fully stepped into his true calling as a retired, full-time artist.
Today, Brian creates from a place of pure joy and boundless energy in his home studio. His life is rich with connection, whether he is visiting his four beloved children, walking his dogs, or working side-by-side with his father—with whom he proudly built a family retirement home in Carmel Valley, California. This deep connection to structure, patience, and love heavily influences his dynamic artistic process. Brian paints completely freely, channels raw emotion into every piece, and experiments fearlessly with motion and depth. His signature style is a thrilling, tactile experience, achieved by layering multiple coats of paint for rich texture, executing bold drips and pours, blending wet-on-wet pigments, and physically tilting the canvas to let colors collide and mix in breathtaking new ways.
